I am an Author.

What does that mean?

Right now, it is just a name.  I am just starting out.  I am on a long journey to learn a craft which takes years, if not decades of practice, thousands of hours of craftmanship, strict disipline, and the utmost dedication to become a master.  And that is exactly what I want to become:  A master craftsmans as a novelist.

My real name is Bobby Author.  You can call me Bob or if you are an old friend, Acht (now there's a couple of stories to tell) or you can call me "Dude" and that would be alright too.  My name is not a pseudonym or a persona created for the purpose of publicly dumping my brain onto paper; it is the name on my birth certificate, on my passport and on my driver's license.  But PLEASE do not call me Robert -  I will ignore you to the utmost of my ability.

I did seriously think of using a pen name, because there is some trepidation in attempting to become a published author; is it not pretentious to approach the big bad world of publishing with my real name?  What will they think?  How will they respond (or rather not respond) to my inquiries?  Will they laugh or will my name cause someone to take interest?

I choose to be myself.
